Overview
- Serve as a Senior Fund Accountant overseeing financial operations for a private equity asset management and advisory platform.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance, and operational excellence across multiple entities and investment vehicles.
- Provide insightful analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making and leadership reviews.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards, and KPIs for effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes for management and advisory operations.
- Collaborate with investment and advisory teams to ensure smooth deal execution and accurate performance tracking.
- Manage relationships with outsourced finance teams, fund administrators, and external auditors.
- Enhance internal controls, processes, and documentation to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee accounting, consolidation, and reporting for management company, fund entities, and co-investment structures.
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements independently from source general ledger data.
- Coordinate with fund administrators for accurate capital account statements, NAV calculations, and investor reporting.
- Calculate quarterly valuations for portfolio companies in accordance with ASC 820 standards.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring results and providing actionable recommendations.
- Perform first-level reviews of tax returns and oversee annual audits with external auditors.
- Establish and enhance internal controls, leveraging technology for efficiency and process improvement.
- Collaborate with advisory leaders to develop profitability analysis and service line reporting.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fund accounting or financial management.
- Proficiency in GAAP-compliant financial reporting and ASC 820 valuation standards.
- Strong expertise in performance metrics calculation, including IRR, MOIC, and carried interest.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Knowledge of tax implications for funds and compliance with SEC regulations.
- Ability to manage relationships with outsourced teams and external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
