Job Description

Overview

  • Perform MRI procedures under radiologist direction, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operate MRI equipment safely, minimizing risks to patients and staff.
  • Assess patient conditions and adjust imaging techniques accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate quality control logs and service records.
  • Ensure compliance with CDC and OSHA guidelines for biomedical waste disposal.
  • Complete annual educational requirements and maintain professional certifications.
  • Work on-site during scheduled shifts, including on-call duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and imaging outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform technical MRI procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
  • Determine suitable anatomical positions and shield patients appropriately.
  • Assess and address patient discomfort during imaging procedures.
  • Document deviations and maintain accurate examination records.
  • Perform quality control checks and maintain equipment logs.
  • Dispose of biomedical waste following established safety protocols.
  • Operate equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
  • Participate in on-call schedules as per department requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • Current NYS Radiologic Technology license/registration, including permit for injections.
  • Registered or eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Advanced Certification preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in MRI technology; two years preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and waste disposal.
  • Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and performing quality control checks.
  • Ability to work on-site and participate in on-call schedules.
