Overview
- Perform MRI procedures under radiologist direction, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes.
- Operate MRI equipment safely, minimizing risks to patients and staff.
- Assess patient conditions and adjust imaging techniques accordingly.
- Maintain accurate quality control logs and service records.
- Ensure compliance with CDC and OSHA guidelines for biomedical waste disposal.
- Complete annual educational requirements and maintain professional certifications.
- Work on-site during scheduled shifts, including on-call duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and imaging outcomes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform technical MRI procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative.
- Determine suitable anatomical positions and shield patients appropriately.
- Assess and address patient discomfort during imaging procedures.
- Document deviations and maintain accurate examination records.
- Perform quality control checks and maintain equipment logs.
- Dispose of biomedical waste following established safety protocols.
- Operate equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
- Participate in on-call schedules as per department requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Current NYS Radiologic Technology license/registration, including permit for injections.
- Registered or eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Advanced Certification preferred).
- Minimum of one year of experience in MRI technology; two years preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Knowledge of CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and waste disposal.
- Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and performing quality control checks.
- Ability to work on-site and participate in on-call schedules.
