Overview
- Lead strategic, operational, and administrative functions of laboratory services in a mission-driven healthcare organization.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory standards while driving performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee laboratory operations, including staffing, budgeting, compliance, and quality assurance processes.
- Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across laboratory services.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams and participate in policy-setting committees.
- Manage a team of approximately 130 employees, including 11 managers/supervisors.
- Lead transformative change initiatives within the laboratory services department.
- Support the hospital’s mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate care to the community.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely testing and reporting.
- Employ and oversee qualified personnel to maintain high standards of service.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA and CAP.
- Lead performance metrics and continuous improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental initiatives to enhance laboratory services.
- Participate in policy-setting committees to align laboratory goals with organizational objectives.
- Oversee budgeting and financial management for the laboratory department.
- Drive growth and transformation within the laboratory services team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- MT or MLT certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory management; 7 years preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards such as CLIA and CAP.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management for laboratory operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
