Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and optimize accounts receivable operations across diverse revenue streams, including digital advertising, events, sponsorships, and international partnerships.
  • Develop scalable AR processes, improve cash flow, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Manage the full AR lifecycle, including client onboarding, invoicing, collections, and reporting.
  • Design systems and workflows that align with organizational growth and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior finance leadership to ensure strategic alignment and operational success.
  • Opportunity to build and mentor a small AR and collections team as the company grows.
  • Engage in process automation initiatives to reduce manual work and errors significantly.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end close processes related to AR and collections.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Establish and document scalable AR policies, procedures, and client onboarding processes.
  • Design invoicing workflows accommodating complexity across campaigns, sponsorships, and international clients.
  • Oversee day-to-day AR operations, including invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Develop and execute collections strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce DSO.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve disputes and ensure timely payments.
  • Handle escalated collection issues with professionalism, balancing diplomacy and accountability.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and AR visibility.
  • Deliver accurate weekly cash forecasts and monthly AR performance reports to leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience managing the full AR cycle.
  • Proven success reducing DSO with measurable outcomes and enhancing collection rates.
  • Experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Preferred experience in media, advertising, or events industry.
  • Familiarity with CRM/revenue systems like Salesforce or Boostr is advantageous.
