Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses within the field of Gastroenterology, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and specialized care to prevent and manage diseases effectively.
  • Explain procedures, test results, and treatment plans to patients, fostering understanding and trust.
  • Monitor patient conditions and re-evaluate treatments as necessary, ensuring continuous care.
  • Provide health and wellness advice, including dietary and hygiene recommendations, to promote overall well-being.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, tests, and prescribed treatments for accurate documentation.
  • Refer patients to other medical specialists when required, ensuring comprehensive care.
  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures and other related duties, contributing to the practice's clinical capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a valid license to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Gastroenterology, demonstrating expertise in the specialty.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Gastroenterology, with 3 years preferred for advanced proficiency.
  • Proficiency in performing advanced endoscopic procedures, with general GI experience also welcomed.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and the medical team.
