Job Description

Overview

  • Manage enterprise-wide procurement and inventory processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of medical and surgical supplies.
  • Develop and implement policies and best practices for procurement and inventory management across multiple facilities.
  • Collaborate with administrators, managers, and physicians to optimize sourcing and distribution methodologies.
  • Coordinate efforts across departments to achieve objectives and streamline procurement processes.
  • Utilize advanced computer skills to manage data in spreadsheets and databases effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and deadlines while handling multiple tasks.
  • Provide leadership and support in navigating and understanding purchasing systems and related programs.
  • Drive distribution system standardization across a multi-facility environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee procurement processes for medical, surgical, and other supplies, including capital procurements.
  • Manage centralized material management systems for purchasing, inventory management, and costing functions.
  • Develop and enforce policies to ensure cost-efficiency and timely delivery of services.
  • Identify deficiencies in processes and recommend improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Collaborate with facility administrators to develop cost-effective distribution methodologies.
  • Provide continuous support and training on purchasing systems and related programs.
  • Standardize distribution systems across multiple facilities to ensure consistency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by corporate officers to support organizational goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus on business or supply chain management.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in purchasing and sourcing within a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in procurement or inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of equipment components and surgical supplies/commodities.
  • Proficiency in preparing, importing, and manipulating data in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal skills to form collaborative team relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
