Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax compliance, planning, and strategy for a dynamic energy firm.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify tax risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Develop policies and procedures to formalize tax-related processes.
  • Analyze financial data for tax purposes, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and service providers.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead tax planning initiatives, including strategies for tax equity structures.
  • Direct tax compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to align tax strategy with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate preparation of annual tax provisions and related documentation.
  • Influence decision-making by collaborating with finance and legal teams.
  • Develop and document policies to enhance tax-related processes.
  • Review and analyze financial data for tax purposes.
  • Mentor junior-level staff through informal guidance and support.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in tax strategy and compliance.
  • Preferred 15 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing financial data and tax implications.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration and influencing decisions.
  • Experience with tax equity structures and complex transactions.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or Canada.
