Job Description

Overview

  • Provide exceptional patient care and support as part of a clinical care team.
  • Perform administrative and clinical tasks to ensure efficient operations.
  • Engage with patients to promote lifelong well-being and health.
  • Assist physicians and clinicians in delivering prescribed medical treatments.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems for accurate data management.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as per protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens, including phlebotomy.
  • Maintain equipment and patient care areas to ensure safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Room patients and gather vital signs for clinical assessments.
  • Input patient information into electronic medical records systems.
  • Administer prescribed medications and vaccines to patients.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior medical assistants.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to improve patient care quality.
  • Participate in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and administrative protocols.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of MA training program preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant designation is advantageous.
  • CPR certification is mandatory for patient-facing roles.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish, with successful language proficiency testing.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS patient experience is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for effective patient engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team.
