Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Room patients and gather vital signs for clinical assessments.
- Input patient information into electronic medical records systems.
- Administer prescribed medications and vaccines to patients.
- Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior medical assistants.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to improve patient care quality.
- Participate in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and administrative protocols.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of MA training program preferred.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant designation is advantageous.
- CPR certification is mandatory for patient-facing roles.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, with successful language proficiency testing.
- Experience in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration preferred.
- Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS patient experience is beneficial.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for effective patient engagement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team.
