Overview

  • Support payroll and accounts payable operations in a dynamic university environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Assist in processing payroll for union and hourly employees, contributing to efficient financial management.
  • Engage in hands-on tasks involving payroll systems and accounts payable processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process payroll for union and hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing and payment runs.
  • Assist in reconciling payroll reports and supplier statements, addressing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and employee data.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding payroll and accounts payable processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies.
  • Support year-end payroll tasks and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and system proficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree required, preferably in finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in payroll and accounts payable roles.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in financial administration or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems; familiarity with Banner Administrative System is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work on-site five days a week, adhering to set hours.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities and systems.
