Overview

  • Lead safety initiatives in commercial construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety programs to mitigate risks and promote workplace safety.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety measures into construction processes.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor certificates of insurance, addressing deficiencies effectively.
  • Partner with insurance brokers to secure certificates of insurance and evidence of insurance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and manage vendor and subcontractor certificates of insurance, addressing deficiencies promptly.
  • Collaborate with insurance brokers to obtain necessary insurance documentation.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs for commercial construction projects.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to project teams on safety protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on safety performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry safety standards and implement best practices.
  • Support the organization in achieving safety excellence and risk management goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, risk management, construction management, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • OSHA certification required; CPR/First Aid and AED certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, workplace safety, or related fields.
  • Experience in construction, hospitality, or recreation industries is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to manage insurance documentation and resolve deficiencies effectively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to lead safety initiatives and teams.
  • Ability to develop and implement safety programs tailored to organizational needs.
