Overview
- Provide professional nursing care and clinical supervision to the patient care team, ensuring high standards of patient satisfaction and safety.
- Organize and delegate responsibilities, mentoring, evaluating, educating, scheduling, and counseling care team staff effectively.
- Coordinate daily huddles, manage materials and deliverables, and review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, planning and coordinating care interventions collaboratively with the care team.
- Ensure nursing practices align with local, state, federal guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Screen, select, train, and evaluate care team staff, providing feedback and support for performance improvement.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Nursing, and Practice Administrator to manage clinical supplies and inventory effectively.
- Document progress notes in the electronic health record within 24 hours, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Medical Assistants (MAs) on the Care Team.
- Manage daily/weekly Care Team scheduling and PTO requests efficiently.
- Delegate tasks appropriately based on licensure scope and follow up to ensure completion.
- Function as Lead Nurse in the medical office in the absence of the Manager, Nursing.
- Coordinate and manage daily huddles, preparing materials and reviewing patient charts.
- Administer medications and conduct point-of-care tests as directed by the provider.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient treatment, examination, and testing.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality policies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in hospital or ambulatory settings.
- Current, unrestricted RN licensure in the State of New York required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, regulations, and practices for patient care and safety.
- Skill in applying and modifying nursing principles and techniques to provide ongoing patient care.
- Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Excellent communication skills for patient care and team collaboration.
