Job Description

Overview

  • Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations, including clinical services, regulatory compliance, and business processes within an outpatient oncology setting.
  • Develop and implement outpatient oncology service lines, collaborating with corporate pharmacy teams and oncology professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, functioning as the Pharmacist In Charge.
  • Oversee drug acquisition and management processes, integrating clinical pharmacy programs and advancing medication safety.
  • Facilitate drug utilization initiatives and manage pharmacy information systems effectively.
  • Engage with physicians and stakeholders to build and develop the cancer center and outpatient oncology services.
  • Provide leadership to pharmacy staff, ensuring competency and engagement in customer service and lean processes.
  • Participate in committees and contribute to the growth and evolution of the oncology service line.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage pharmacy distributive services and oversee daily fulfillment operations within the outpatient oncology setting.
  • Integrate clinical pharmacy programs and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Lead drug acquisition and management processes, collaborating with corporate pharmacy teams.
  • Supervise pharmacists and technicians, maintaining high standards of competency and customer service.
  • Advance medication safety initiatives and optimize pharmacy information systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians and stakeholders to develop outpatient oncology service lines.
  • Participate in strategic planning and committee involvement to support service line growth.
  • Ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, functioning as Pharmacist In Charge.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of technical experience, with 8 years preferred.
  • 2-5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Active RPH License in the state of employment required.
  • Experience with Epic Beacon and 340B programs highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of outpatient oncology pharmacy operations and drug acquisition processes.
  • Confidence and collaboration skills for face-to-face physician engagement.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving roles and contribute to service line development.
