Overview

  • Serve as a Legal Secretary in a dynamic legal environment, providing essential administrative and legal support to attorneys and clients.
  • Utilize your expertise in commercial litigation to manage complex legal documentation and processes effectively.
  • Ensure smooth operation of legal proceedings by coordinating schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements for attorneys.
  • Maintain and organize client files, both electronic and physical, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts, adhering to strict deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Support attorneys in trial preparation, including indexing discovery and preparing trial exhibits.
  • Conduct research and summarize cases, providing valuable insights and reports for attorneys and clients.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure efficient management of records, projects, and case databases.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Format legal documents using advanced styles, creating tables of contents and authorities.
  • Draft, proofread, and prepare legal documents such as audits and pleadings.
  • Prepare and file documents with courts, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Maintain and update case databases with relevant status and information.
  • Coordinate attorney and client meetings, managing calendars and travel arrangements.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, briefs, and appendices for legal proceedings.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including binder creation and trial exhibit preparation.
  • Redact sensitive information from documents as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or equivalent educational background required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in commercial litigation and legal document management.
  • Strong skills in formatting documents, creating tables of contents, and preparing legal reports.
  • Experience with case database management and maintaining client files.
  • Ability to coordinate schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements efficiently.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to assist in trial preparation, including binder and exhibit organization.
