Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients in alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of medical conditions, including outpatient HIV care.
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing medical education activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Supervise paramedical personnel and contribute to their professional development.
  • Adhere to infection control measures and organizational policies.
  • Participate in medical staff meetings, peer reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Complete necessary documentation and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in teaching activities to enhance understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic methods.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat adult patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic and preventive care plans.
  • Refer patients to specialty and consultative medical services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records.
  • Attend and contribute to medical staff meetings and conferences.
  • Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance activities.
  • Supervise and mentor paramedical personnel in patient care activities.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control standards and organizational policies.
  • Engage in teaching and training activities for healthcare personnel.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
  • Active medical license to practice in the State of New York.
  • Progressive work experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
