Overview
- Lead and manage the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including nurses, clerks, and equipment technicians to deliver comprehensive neonatal care.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Promote professional development among staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Collaborate with medical directors and consulting physicians to ensure optimal neonatal care practices.
- Oversee quality improvement programs and participate in neonatal program oversight committees.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies to maintain a safe and effective care environment.
- Monitor resource utilization and assist in budget preparation to optimize operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and coordinate neonatal patient care services from admission to discharge, ensuring adherence to clinical pathways.
- Develop and implement staff education and training programs to maintain competency in neonatal care.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor outcomes through data-driven analysis.
- Collaborate with other neonatal program managers to support regional outreach and care consistency.
- Participate in neonatal care oversight committees and contribute to policy development.
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient care in compliance with hospital standards.
- Manage personnel actions including hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures.
- Promote family-centered care by liaising with families and guest relations to meet patient expectations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in neonatal care management; 3 years preferred.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal care standards, quality improvement processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff development and team coordination.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing policies and procedures for neonatal care.
- Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively to meet operational goals.
