Overview

  • Lead cloud engineering initiatives for a dynamic technology company, driving reliability and scalability across mission-critical platforms.
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives to define technical strategies and shape engineering culture.
  • Oversee the modernization of legacy systems and the development of cutting-edge cloud solutions.
  • Mentor and scale a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a DevOps mindset.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and audits, integrating security into the platform.
  • Drive cost optimization and performance improvements within a substantial AWS environment.
  • Develop infrastructure as code practices, streamlining deployment and operational processes.
  • Deliver end-to-end observability and proactive incident management for critical systems.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Define and enforce service level objectives (SLOs) to maintain high reliability standards.
  • Lead incident management and implement proactive reliability measures like chaos engineering.
  • Optimize AWS resources and manage budgets with strong FinOps discipline.
  • Standardize Kubernetes services stack with templates and automated deployment processes.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Helm.
  • Implement robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure predictable and efficient delivery.
  • Enhance network and traffic management systems with resilient routing and observability patterns.
  • Collaborate with security teams to achieve audit readiness and compliance with PCI/SOC 2 standards.
  • Partner with database teams to optimize data layer strategies and scalability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years leading Infra/Platform/DevOps/SRE teams.
  • Expertise in AWS operations, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD automation.
  • Proven experience managing high-volume, 24×7 production systems.
  • Strong incident management and observability skills, with a focus on proactive reliability.
  • Comfortable working in regulated domains and achieving compliance with industry standards.
  • Preferred experience in payments/fintech, sharding/partitioning, and Go/Ruby programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams and drive a high-ownership engineering culture.
  • Remote work capability with excellent communication and leadership skills.
