Overview
- Provide professional nursing services, including administering vaccinations, Tuberculin Skin Tests, and other medications as ordered.
- Assist patients and families in understanding and participating in care plans.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs and venipuncture, ensuring accurate specimen processing.
- Maintain patient flow in a busy clinic environment, preparing patients for medical visits.
- Document care and procedures in electronic medical records accurately and timely.
- Ensure compliance with infection control practices and safety standards.
- Educate patients on health practices and procedures as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain current licensure and certifications, including CPR for Healthcare Providers.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer treatments and vaccines as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform diagnostic imaging orders and specialty referrals as assigned.
- Manage physician paperwork, outgoing mail, and faxes efficiently.
- Process prior authorization requests for medications and procedures.
- Sterilize instruments using autoclave machines and maintain infection control practices.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and coworkers.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information and adherence to all policies and procedures.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and patient transfers as required.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; current New York State LPN licensure mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical nursing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in administering injections and conducting diagnostic procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and safety standards.
- Ability to document patient care accurately in electronic medical records.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
- Physical ability to perform required tasks, including lifting and patient transfers.
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers is essential.
