Job Description

Overview

  • Play a pivotal role in the accounting department, managing key financial transactions, compliance, and reporting processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Prepare and analyze accounting transactions, including cost allocation, revenue recognition, fixed assets, and debt management.
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, delivering insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate financial data capture and integration.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing thorough documentation and expert explanations.
  • Develop and manage capital accrual processes and reporting schedules to optimize financial operations.
  • Maintain and reconcile leases and land purchases, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Participate in technical accounting projects and special initiatives to drive innovation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee fixed asset and WIP subledgers, ensuring accurate depreciation and timely updates.
  • Manage reimbursable construction projects, including setup, monitoring, and accounting processes.
  • Review and process construction invoices, change orders, retainage, and progress billings efficiently.
  • Coordinate asset capitalization processes and collaborate with fixed asset accounting teams.
  • Develop and monitor accounting for asset retirement obligations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Perform and review reconciliations for income statement and balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in monthly and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide audit support, ensuring compliance with standards and delivering accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture and integrate changes in contracts and construction plans.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required.
  • CPA certification or eligibility is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience; 6 years preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting or construction/energy industries is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in fixed asset accounting and joint venture project reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and excellent communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of capital accrual processes and construction accounting practices is essential.
