Overview

  • Lead the Critical Care CVICU team, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Drive innovative cardiovascular care initiatives, utilizing advanced technologies and evidence-based practices to enhance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement strategies that improve patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff, fostering professional growth and development within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies to maintain high-quality care delivery.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes to advance departmental and organizational goals.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration across departments to maintain cohesive operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of the CVICU, ensuring optimal patient care and staff performance.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to align nursing practices with clinical objectives and patient needs.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Manage staffing schedules and resources to meet patient care demands effectively.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for nursing personnel to advance their skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery systems and processes.
  • Ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial objectives within the department.
  • Participate in hospital-wide committees and projects to support organizational goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Current RN license in Texas or compact state license mandatory.
  • Minimum 4 years of acute care CVICU/ICU leadership experience within the last year.
  • American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • CCRN and/or CNRN certifications preferred for advanced expertise.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills essential for effective leadership.
  • Proven ability to implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Experience in policy development and strategic planning advantageous.
