Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily operations of the CVICU, ensuring optimal patient care and staff performance.
- Coordinate with medical staff to align nursing practices with clinical objectives and patient needs.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Manage staffing schedules and resources to meet patient care demands effectively.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for nursing personnel to advance their skills.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery systems and processes.
- Ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial objectives within the department.
- Participate in hospital-wide committees and projects to support organizational goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
- Current RN license in Texas or compact state license mandatory.
- Minimum 4 years of acute care CVICU/ICU leadership experience within the last year.
- American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- CCRN and/or CNRN certifications preferred for advanced expertise.
- Strong communication and organizational skills essential for effective leadership.
- Proven ability to implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Experience in policy development and strategic planning advantageous.
