Accounting Supervisor

Overview

• Lead and supervise accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations.
• Collaborate with the Director of Accounting and Treasury Management to optimize financial processes.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, financial statements, and tax returns.
• Research and apply accounting principles to enhance departmental efficiency.
• Provide guidance to senior and staff accountants on accounting procedures.
• Utilize Toyota Lean principles to improve operational workflows.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting to management and external auditors.
• Support affiliates with financial analysis and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee accounting processes and provide mentorship to accounting staff.
• Review and approve journal entries and work papers for accuracy.
• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for the organization and affiliates.
• Conduct research on GAAP and IRS tax applications to ensure compliance.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve accounting efficiency.
• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and reporting.
• Utilize advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for reporting and presentations.
• Support management with financial analysis and decision-making insights.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of corporate accounting experience; 5 years preferred.
• Proficiency in GAAP accounting techniques and general ledger systems.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint for financial reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.
• Experience with Toyota Lean principles is advantageous.
