Overview
- Lead financial strategy and operations for a growing law firm with over 100 attorneys nationwide.
- Serve as a key member of the executive team, advising on long-term financial planning and growth initiatives.
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounting, billing, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with leadership to optimize practice profitability and streamline financial processes.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals and expansion.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Committee based on financial analysis and trends.
- Foster collaboration across departments to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Advise firm leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including AP/AR, trust accounting, and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Optimize billing workflows and collections processes to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, modeling financial scenarios.
- Manage risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Mentor and lead the finance/accounting team, developing departmental processes and standards.
- Collaborate with HR and operations to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably in professional services or legal environments.
- Proficiency in legal practice management and accounting systems.
- Strong knowledge of law firm economics, billing practices, and partner compensation models.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage both strategic and tactical financial responsibilities effectively.
- High integrity and sound judgment in decision-making processes.
