Overview
- The AVP, Financial Reporting & Analysis role offers an opportunity to contribute to financial operations within a leading investment bank.
- Collaborate on financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate and compliant financial statements.
- Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including US GAAP and JGAAP compliance.
- Prepare detailed financial statements, variance analyses, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Engage in internal and external reporting, providing insights to management and stakeholders.
- Contribute to system enhancements and business projects, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Maintain knowledge of accounting standards and organizational workflows to support audit and reporting activities.
- Work within a hybrid environment, combining remote flexibility with on-site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform monthly and quarterly financial close functions under US GAAP and JGAAP standards.
- Prepare reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses to ensure data accuracy.
- Generate internal and external financial reports, including commentary on significant movements.
- Conduct balance sheet analysis and substantiation, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with affiliates and teams on intercompany analysis and reporting tasks.
- Support system enhancement projects and operational improvements.
- Assist senior staff with tax, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis duties.
- Liaise with audit teams, providing requested information and ensuring compliance.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial data management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial reporting and analysis; 6 years preferred.
- Proficiency in US GAAP and JGAAP standards and financial statement preparation.
- Strong analytical skills for variance analysis and commentary preparation.
- Experience with intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet substantiation.
- Knowledge of accounting systems and operational workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external teams.
