Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care, ensuring patient health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality medical services and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in outreach programs and community health initiatives to promote public health.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development to remain updated on evidence-based practices.
  • Support organizational goals through active participation in meetings and quality assurance projects.
  • Offer mentorship and supervision to nurse practitioners and physician assistants within the care team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history and physical examinations, to diagnose and develop treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications and perform minor surgical procedures in accordance with professional guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and referrals.
  • Evaluate diagnostic data, including lab results and imaging, to inform clinical decisions.
  • Participate in peer reviews and contribute to the development of clinical protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and universal precautions.
  • Provide guidance and support to medical staff and contribute to team development.
  • Engage in community outreach and health promotion activities as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Current New York State medical license and DEA certification.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible, with certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and computer applications, including MS Word and Outlook.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage on-call responsibilities and rotating weekend schedules effectively.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Dedication to professional development and adherence to evidence-based practices.
