Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services including diagnosis, treatment, and health maintenance to patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Lead medical decision-making and supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Participate in outreach and off-site healthcare programs within the service area.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct health history interviews and physical examinations for patients.
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Prescribe medications following professional practice guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures within the scope of primary care.
  • Evaluate patient data and ensure timely follow-up on diagnostic results.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current New York State medical license and DEA certification.
  • Board eligibility or certification in the relevant specialty.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and computer applications such as MS Word and Outlook.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork.
  • Ability to participate in rotating on-call schedules and weekend shifts.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
