Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventative care, ensuring optimal patient health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to promote trust and mutual respect among team members.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, state, and federal regulations to uphold high standards of care.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education to stay updated on evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in outreach programs and off-site healthcare initiatives to serve the community effectively.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities as per organizational guidelines.
  • Provide leadership in medical decision-making and supervision of advanced practice providers.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct history and physical examinations, diagnosing and counseling patients on treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications following state regulations and professional guidelines.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures and generate referrals for specialized services.
  • Evaluate patient data, including reports, labs, and diagnostic imaging, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and assist in updating protocols and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control plans and universal precautions.
  • Maintain unrestricted medical licensure and board certification, fulfilling clinical privileges requirements.
  • Utilize electronic health records and computer systems proficiently to enhance care coordination.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Current New York State medical license and DEA certification.
  • Board eligibility or certification, with certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and computer systems, including MS Word and Outlook.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a clinical setting, with two years preferred.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and professional development.
  • Ability to work on-site with flexible scheduling, including rotation and on-call duties.
