Job Description

Overview

  • Provide remote pharmacy services, including prescription verification, clinical counseling, and patient interaction.
  • Collaborate with prescribers and oversee pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and efficient medication dispensing.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations, maintaining high standards of quality and patient safety.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and provide operational support to program staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, clinical appropriateness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication use, adherence strategies, and therapy management via remote channels.
  • Collaborate with prescribers to clarify orders and discuss therapeutic alternatives.
  • Monitor and guide pharmacy technicians to ensure accurate order processing and prescription preparation.
  • Document patient interactions and prescriber communications according to pharmacy policies.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and active pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or specialty pharmacy settings.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and complex phone systems.
  • Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Expertise in FDA health regulations, pharmacology, and legal compliance.
  • Experience with medication therapy management and patient counseling.
