Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and maintain the organization's risk management plan, goals, and objectives annually.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across clinical and non-clinical areas to identify potential issues.
- Participate in root cause analyses and failure mode effect analyses for incident investigations.
- Provide confidential reports of significant occurrences to peer review committees.
- Collaborate with security and HR to enforce safety practices and prevent workplace violence.
- Educate staff on risk management, patient safety, and incident reporting protocols.
- Coordinate civil rights compliance and training for staff, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
- Manage claims and litigation processes, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or health science-related field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in an acute care facility.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management or Healthcare Quality preferred.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, accreditation, and infection control practices.
- Proven ability to lead teams and implement effective risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with clinical and administrative teams.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and managing incident investigations.
