Job Description

Overview

  • Manage payroll processing for the client, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Oversee payroll system integrity, security, and confidentiality, maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Administer payroll deductions, benefits, and contributions, including garnishments and 401(k) plans.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Support Human Resources and Finance teams in resolving payroll-related issues and operational needs.
  • Maintain organized payroll records and filing systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to payroll department personnel, conducting performance reviews and development plans.
  • Communicate proactively with management regarding payroll updates, issues, and process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs during staffing changes or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Process payroll accurately and timely, adhering to applicable laws and company policies.
  • Reconcile employee hours and earnings, reviewing reports for accuracy before submission.
  • Administer payroll-related deductions, benefits, and contributions, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries, allocating expenses to general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain time and attendance systems, conducting audits and managing accruals.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies, supporting audits and compliance efforts.
  • Provide leadership to payroll staff, conducting performance reviews and recommending compensation adjustments.
  • Resolve payroll-related issues in collaboration with Human Resources and Accounting teams.
  • Ensure enforcement of company policies and guidelines to minimize legal and compliance risks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required, with a focus on payroll or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in 401(k) plan and benefits administration is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate, motivate, and develop staff effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, proficient in payroll systems and office technology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting.
