Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Food and Nutrition Services department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies for clinical services, food preparation, and distribution to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee sanitation, safety practices, and performance improvement initiatives to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align departmental goals with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure nutritional adequacy and patient care through strategic leadership and resource management.
  • Provide strategic direction for purchasing and resource allocation within the department.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance metrics to ensure operational excellence.
  • Maintain food safety certification and uphold standards for food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise food safety and nutritional care aspects to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies for clinical services and food preparation.
  • Oversee sanitation, safety practices, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership in staff education and professional development programs.
  • Ensure efficient food preparation and distribution within the department.
  • Collaborate with teams to enhance patient nutritional care standards.
  • Manage purchasing and resource allocation to optimize departmental operations.
  • Evaluate departmental performance and implement improvements where necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food & Nutrition or related field required.
  • Registered Dietitian certification as per CMS standards mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in nutrition and food service management.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
  • Food Safety Certification from an accredited organization required.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
