Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax compliance and planning initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
  • Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and accuracy.
  • Supervise and mentor tax staff, promoting professional development and technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with senior management and clients to address tax-related matters effectively.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research to resolve intricate issues and provide actionable insights.
  • Participate in ongoing professional education and contribute to internal training programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning approaches to optimize client outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while minimizing liabilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and estate tax returns, including multi-state filings.
  • Analyze and review tax projections and quarterly estimates prepared by team members.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Respond to inquiries and audits from tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive tax research and document findings to support decision-making.
  • Prepare client meeting packages and provide strategic insights to enhance client relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including partners and business managers.
  • Engage in professional development activities to stay updated on industry trends and practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field with a strong academic record.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience, with 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax software such as CCH Axcess.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial statement analysis.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
