Job Description

Overview

  • Perform advanced nuclear medicine procedures using state-of-the-art imaging systems in a patient-focused healthcare environment.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals while adhering to strict safety protocols and physician directives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional diagnostic and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records using electronic medical systems.
  • Conduct routine quality control and calibration of imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stay informed on the latest advancements in nuclear medicine technology and practices.
  • Educate patients about procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and safety guidelines in nuclear medicine operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Operate imaging systems, including gamma cameras and PET/CT scanners, to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their safety and addressing any adverse reactions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective patient care plans.
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibration of imaging equipment to guarantee accurate results.
  • Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Educate patients and their families about nuclear medicine procedures and address any concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to NMTCB, ARRT, NRC, HIPAA, and state-specific regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field is required.
  • Certification as CNMT by NMTCB or in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT is mandatory.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
  • State licensure for nuclear medicine technology, if applicable, must be obtained.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in nuclear medicine technology is required.
  • Preferred experience with advanced imaging systems such as SPECT, PET, or hybrid modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
