Job Description

Overview

  • Lead technical accounting and financial reporting for a dynamic organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex accounting transactions and new standards implementation.
  • Enhance financial reporting processes and support strategic initiatives for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to optimize accounting systems and software solutions.
  • Participate in strategic projects to advance financial reporting frameworks and compliance strategies.
  • Contribute to the organization's growth by driving innovative accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and disclosures for quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
  • Coordinate external audits and internal reviews, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Conduct technical accounting analyses for lease transactions and impairment assessments.
  • Draft technical accounting white papers and provide training to the accounting team.
  • Develop and update accounting policies to align with compliance and business needs.
  • Identify and implement workflow improvements to enhance financial reporting accuracy.
  • Mentor junior professionals, fostering skill development and team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with valuation firms for purchase price allocations and stock-based compensation valuations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant corporate or public accounting experience, with 5 years preferred.
  • CPA designation or progress towards completion is highly desirable.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems; familiarity with MRI software is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP standards and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
