Overview

  • Take charge of pre-construction estimating for diverse and impactful projects in a dynamic construction environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver precise and competitive project proposals that meet client expectations.
  • Utilize your expertise in construction materials, systems, and market trends to ensure project success.
  • Develop detailed estimates and budgets, ensuring alignment with project requirements and financial goals.
  • Assess design documents for completeness and provide actionable insights to optimize project execution.
  • Coordinate subcontractor bidding processes, ensuring accuracy and comprehensive scope inclusion.
  • Contribute to value engineering and alternative studies to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Engage with stakeholders during proposal reviews, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead pre-construction teams to achieve project milestones and ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and prepare estimates for assigned trades.
  • Coordinate subcontractor input to ensure comprehensive scope inclusion in project estimates.
  • Provide operational input during estimating and proposal processes to enhance project outcomes.
  • Review subcontractor bid proposals and maintain accurate recording sheets for project documentation.
  • Analyze cost data to develop benchmarks and improve accuracy of building system cost estimates.
  • Conduct site evaluations to identify scope gaps and assess existing conditions for project planning.
  • Develop pre-construction schedules and ensure alignment with project timelines and goals.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a construction estimator with a strong project engineering background.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials, systems, and trade practices.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead pre-construction teams and effectively manage project deadlines.
  • Strong conceptual skills to work with limited information and interpret owner requirements.
  • Experience in value engineering, budget controls, and constructability reviews to optimize project outcomes.
  • Associate degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience preferred.
  • On-site work arrangement required to facilitate effective project collaboration and execution.
