Overview

  • Lead the surgical services department, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and innovation among clinical team members.
  • Oversee 24-hour administrative and clinical operations, maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Implement strategies to optimize resource allocation, enhancing patient outcomes and staff efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive advancements in surgical services and patient care.
  • Promote a patient-focused, whole-person care approach within the surgical services department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and professional standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient surgical unit operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care quality, addressing areas for improvement proactively.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling and resource allocation to meet operational demands effectively.
  • Facilitate communication between surgical services and other hospital departments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements within the operating room.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Support staff development through training programs and professional growth opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Active California Registered Nurse License and National Provider BLS certification upon hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in surgical services and 3 years in management roles.
  • Proven expertise in operating room management and patient care quality improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering a patient-centered care environment.
  • Ability to work on-site and occasionally travel as required.
