Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and oversee the accounting team to ensure accurate fund accounting and reporting for hedge fund vehicles.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external administrators to optimize fund operations and reporting processes.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance scalability and operational excellence in fund servicing.
  • Manage financial reporting, investor deliverables, and compliance with partnership agreements and regulatory standards.
  • Support fund structuring, setup, and onboarding activities to ensure seamless integration.
  • Define, implement, and maintain operating policies and procedures for fund accounting.
  • Oversee cash positions, liquidity management, reconciliations, and other critical financial operations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align accounting strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with fund managers, administrators, and distributors to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Design and implement efficient processes for fund servicing and reporting activities.
  • Partner with senior management to automate and enhance financial reporting systems.
  • Ensure compliance with fund agreements, regulatory filings, and industry standards.
  • Supervise fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely financial deliverables.
  • Manage accounts payable processes and oversee expense allocation activities.
  • Coordinate with custodians and banks to support fund operations effectively.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects and tasks to support organizational goals and objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in fund accounting, with 14 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Experience in designing and implementing processes for fund operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex financial challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to lead and manage effectively.
