Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the strategic direction of drug safety and pharmacovigilance operations, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards and prioritizing patient safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement comprehensive safety strategies for pharmaceutical products.
  • Provide expert medical guidance in evaluating safety data, risk management plans, and regulatory submissions.
  • Represent the organization in interactions with regulatory agencies, industry bodies, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety processes, procedures, and compliance systems.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements in drug safety operations.
  • Mentor and develop the drug safety team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the organization's leadership and strategic planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of adverse event data to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Develop and maintain robust risk management plans and safety profiles for pharmaceutical products.
  • Collaborate with clinical research teams to ensure effective safety monitoring during trials.
  • Lead interactions with regulatory authorities, providing expert medical input on safety matters.
  • Provide medical expertise for product labeling and marketing materials, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Monitor emerging safety issues and implement proactive corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Support audits and inspections related to drug safety and pharmacovigilance practices.
  • Drive the adoption of innovative tools and methodologies for safety monitoring and risk management.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a strong background in medical sciences.
  • Minimum of 11 years of experience in drug safety and pharmacovigilance, including executive-level leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in managing safety teams, processes, and cross-functional collaborations.
  • In-depth knowledge of global regulatory requirements and industry standards in pharmacovigilance.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills to effectively engage stakeholders.
  • Experience with risk management systems and safety monitoring tools is highly preferred.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and prioritizing patient safety in all operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
