Overview
- Lead laboratory services in a healthcare organization, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with industry standards.
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance laboratory performance, efficiency, and service quality.
- Oversee laboratory operations, including staffing, budgeting, and quality assurance processes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within laboratory services.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to align laboratory goals with organizational objectives.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory standards to maintain accreditation.
- Manage and mentor a team of professionals, including supervisors and technical staff.
- Support the healthcare organization’s mission of delivering high-quality patient care through effective laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely testing and reporting.
- Recruit, train, and manage laboratory personnel to maintain high service standards.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with regulatory standards such as CLIA and CAP.
- Develop and implement performance metrics and improvement strategies for laboratory services.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance laboratory services and patient outcomes.
- Participate in policy-setting committees to align laboratory operations with organizational goals.
- Manage laboratory budgets and financial planning to optimize resource allocation effectively.
- Lead initiatives to drive growth and innovation within laboratory services.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; advanced degree preferred.
- MT or MLT certification is mandatory for this role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in laboratory management; 7 years preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of driving performance improvements.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, including CLIA and CAP.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management for laboratory operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the laboratory.
