Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Operating Room nursing team, ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical procedures and patient outcomes.
  • Oversee preadmission testing, pre-operative, operative, and post-operative processes for seamless service delivery.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain required certifications.
  • Drive innovative practices and foster a culture of excellence within the Operating Room department.
  • Contribute to the hospital's mission of delivering top-tier surgical services.
  • Support strategic initiatives to enhance patient care quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive nursing care plans tailored to surgical patients.
  • Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal surgical workflows.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Implement strategies to elevate patient care quality and operational performance.
  • Participate in hospital-wide initiatives, contributing to strategic planning efforts.
  • Facilitate effective communication between hospital leadership and departmental teams.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; advanced certifications such as CPAN preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care Operating Room management experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Active RN licensure in the state of practice or compact license, as per regulations.
  • Proficiency in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with ability to maintain them.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills essential.
  • Experience managing a team of approximately 40 FTEs in a high-volume surgical environment.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and resource allocation within healthcare settings.
