Overview
- Lead tax compliance and strategic planning for a dynamic organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and optimizing tax strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, including deferred tax analysis and reconciliation processes.
- Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to maintain compliance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on organizational tax strategies and operations.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency in tax workflows.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, and legal teams to align tax planning with broader organizational goals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Facilitate timely filing of quarterly estimated tax payments and annual tax provisions.
- Conduct tax provision calculations and reconciliations under ASC 740 standards.
- Perform tax research and document findings to support compliance and strategic initiatives.
- Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities with detailed documentation.
- Maintain organized and comprehensive tax records and documentation for internal and external use.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align tax strategies with organizational objectives.
- Assist in preparing R&D tax credits and other applicable tax incentives to optimize benefits.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant tax experience, with 5 years preferred.
- Proficient understanding of tax concepts and U.S. GAAP principles.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with tax preparation software.
- Experience with GoSystem, Onesource, or CCH Axcess is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate reporting and compliance.
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
