Overview

  • Lead the Maternal Child Health department in a dynamic healthcare organization, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
  • Provide strategic oversight for antepartum, labor and delivery, and NICU units, fostering high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address patient and family needs effectively and compassionately.
  • Mentor and support nursing staff, promoting professional growth and development within the department.
  • Implement innovative strategies to enhance patient care delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies, maintaining high standards of care.
  • Contribute to the organization's reputation as a leader in Women's and Children's healthcare services.
  • Drive initiatives to support the hospital's mission and operational goals through effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and oversee nursing care plans tailored to high-acuity patient needs within Maternal Child Health units.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, ensuring adherence to quality care standards.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to optimize department operations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other departments to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving patient care processes and operational efficiency.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies within the department.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes to advance departmental goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications are highly preferred.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in high-acuity hospital settings.
  • Proven expertise in managing Women's Services with significant birth volumes annually.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills to drive departmental success.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively and align with organizational goals.
  • Commitment to fostering professional development and growth among nursing staff.
