Overview

  • Drive safety excellence on construction projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Develop and implement tailored safety programs to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety measures into all phases of construction planning.
  • Provide comprehensive safety training to personnel, fostering awareness and adherence to best practices.
  • Mentor and develop safety staff, ensuring professional growth and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Conduct audits and inspections, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions proactively.
  • Facilitate third-party safety reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Champion a culture of safety and care, driving continuous improvement across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee safety measures for employees, subcontractors, and the public on construction sites.
  • Enforce corporate and project-specific safety and health programs effectively.
  • Develop and deliver safety education programs tailored to project needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with field supervision to integrate safety measures into construction planning.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas.
  • Lead initiatives to exceed stakeholder expectations regarding safety standards and practices.
  • Recruit and retain top industry talent to strengthen the safety team and organizational capabilities.
  • Promote alignment with organizational standards of excellence in safety practices and outcomes.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of construction safety experience; 6 years preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in safety and health or related discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safely.
  • Strong communication skills to influence and gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30 Hour, CHST, CSP, and First Aid/CPR preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment effectively.
  • Alignment with organizational standards of excellence and safety practices.
  • Experience in facilitating third-party safety reviews and corporate safety initiatives.
