Job Description

Overview

  • Lead safety management efforts to ensure compliance and promote a culture of care within construction projects.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs aligned with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to create and maintain safe work environments for all personnel.
  • Conduct safety training programs to enhance awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Facilitate safety audits and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor and develop safety staff, fostering professional growth and expertise.
  • Identify and address potential safety risks, implementing corrective actions proactively.
  • Support corporate safety initiatives and contribute to achieving organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Drive a proactive safety culture across construction sites, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and coordinate tailored safety programs for specific projects and tasks.
  • Collaborate with field teams to identify and address safety hazards effectively.
  • Conduct specialized safety training, including crane operation, fall protection, and equipment handling.
  • Facilitate regulatory and third-party safety reviews, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Mentor safety personnel, enhancing team capabilities and expertise.
  • Proactively identify safety risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Recruit and retain top safety talent to strengthen the team’s effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction safety management required.
  • Degree in safety, health, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30 Hour, CHST, or CSP are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in crane operation, fall protection, and heavy equipment safety training.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • First Aid/CPR certification and familiarity with EM 385 standards preferred.
