Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage and mentor direct reports, conducting performance evaluations and guiding career development.
- Assess training needs for safety personnel, ensuring readiness for project requirements and compliance standards.
- Evaluate and enhance safety inspection systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze hazard and incident data to develop targeted safety initiatives and mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and corporate safety regulations and procedures.
- Lead safety planning during preconstruction processes and subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Deliver impactful safety communications, presentations, and training sessions to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and industry professionals to maintain positive relationships.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Professional safety designations such as CHST, CSP, or OSHA certifications preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of construction safety experience required; 9 years preferred.
- Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing safety data and implementing corrective measures effectively.
- Experience in leading emergency or crisis conditions with strategic decision-making.
- Ability to prioritize tasks across diverse geographic areas and adapt to flexible schedules.
- Willingness to work on-site under various conditions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
