Overview
- Manage and oversee respiratory therapy operations, ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to clinical standards.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in accreditation processes.
- Develop and monitor quality indicators to measure clinical outcomes and improve practices.

- Support the Medical Director in managing departmental responsibilities and clinical operations.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet organizational needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Monitor departmental performance standards, ensuring adherence to policies and professional behaviors.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and manage attendance and hiring processes.
- Develop, evaluate, and revise respiratory therapy protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate on staff education and orientation programs with the RT Educator and leadership.
- Analyze clinical practices to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Act as a clinical resource and role model, demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills.
- Facilitate staff engagement in departmental operations and decision-making processes.
- Maintain visibility and credibility with the respiratory care team and interdisciplinary members.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapy license and RRT credential.
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS; NPS credential preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' acute care respiratory therapy experience; management experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage departmental operations effectively.
- Experience in developing clinical protocols and monitoring quality indicators.
- Membership in the American Association of Respiratory Care is advantageous.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential.
