Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Ensure accurate statutory filings and sub-ledger systems in compliance with accounting standards.
- Implement statutory accounting changes and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Conduct technical research on emerging accounting pronouncements.
- Participate in industry discussions and monitor regulatory guidance updates.
- Test and utilize regulatory updates in accounting software systems.
- Manage securities filings with NAIC’s Securities Valuation Office.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers on NAIC ratings and securities analysis.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on statutory bond definitions guidance.
- Mentor and develop investment accounting professionals across onshore and offshore teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- CPA, MBA, or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience, with 10 years preferred.
- Expertise in fixed income and investment accounting within insurance settings.
- Proficiency in investment accounting systems, SVO ratings database, and ERP systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of US Insurance Company statutory guidance and Bermuda statutory accounting requirements.
