Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and supervise Blood Bank laboratory operations in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain high-quality laboratory practices.
  • Coordinate and manage human and financial resources effectively within the laboratory.
  • Act as a liaison between laboratory services and other hospital departments.
  • Provide customer-focused service while ensuring safety and professionalism.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Support the laboratory director in strategic planning and operational management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of the Blood Bank and Clinical Laboratory.
  • Monitor and control laboratory processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage and mentor laboratory staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with hospital departments to optimize laboratory service delivery.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs for laboratory operations.
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory data to support clinical decision-making.
  • Participate in budget planning and resource allocation for the laboratory.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Current California Clinical Laboratory Science License.
  • Minimum of 2 years of technical experience in Blood Bank; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with staff and physicians.
  • Proficiency in leadership, problem-solving, and critical reasoning.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Physical ability to perform laboratory tasks and administrative duties as required.
