Job Description

Overview

  • Lead strategic oversight and implementation of patient safety and risk management programs to ensure organizational compliance and promote a culture of zero harm.
  • Develop and manage program personnel, fiscal, and material resources to support continuous improvement and staff development initiatives.
  • Collaborate across all organizational levels to align critical functions and foster a just culture within the healthcare setting.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory standards, protecting the organization from compliance risks and violations.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in patient, employee, partner, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement through effective communication and facilitation with medical staff and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize advanced management theories and practices to maintain a high-functioning, engaged team environment.
  • Support the organization's mission and values through strategic planning and proactive risk management strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement effective patient safety and enterprise risk management programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage program personnel, budgets, and resources to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and organizational leaders to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, mitigating risks and protecting organizational integrity.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance staff development and foster engagement within the healthcare environment.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, implementing improvements as necessary to meet organizational goals.
  • Advocate for patient safety and risk management best practices within the healthcare setting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is required; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare law, risk management, or patient safety.
  • At least 3 years of management experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Current California Clinical License (RN, PharmD, or related field) is required.
  • Preferred certifications: CPPS, CPHQ, and CPHRM.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of management theories and practices to maintain team engagement and performance.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
