Overview
- Manage accounting operations for construction and real estate projects in a dynamic, growth-oriented firm.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, operating statements, and cash flow analyses.
- Ensure accuracy in project cost management, accounts payable, and budget revisions.
- Collaborate with contracts administrators to maintain funding source budgets and project draws.
- Optimize accounting processes using automation tools and systems enhancements.
- Support joint venture reporting and prepare trial balances for financial uploads.
- Contribute to audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices.
- Work in a hybrid environment, balancing independent tasks and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and reconcile cash accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial entries.
- Maintain construction-in-progress sub-ledgers and record distributions efficiently.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Oversee depreciation schedules and interest accruals for construction loans.
- Review job cost reports and collaborate on budget adjustments.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and reports with minimal supervision.
- Assist with joint venture financial uploads and quarterly capital balance reports.
- Support ad-hoc assignments to meet evolving accounting team needs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct property/project accounting experience required.
- Proficiency in Yardi software and advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Experience with fund accounting or private equity funds is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- Interest in process optimization and automation tools.
- Confident communicator and team player with excellent organizational skills.
