Job Description

Overview

  • Support clients in achieving employment goals within behavioral health recovery frameworks.
  • Provide career counseling, job readiness training, and placement support.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams and external resources for successful job placement.
  • Offer hybrid work arrangements with flexibility for remote and in-person days.
  • Engage in community outreach to build partnerships and promote vocational services.
  • Work within a unionized environment with structured compensation and benefits.
  • Maintain a caseload of 20 clients per week, focusing on individualized plans.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere emphasizing collaboration and support.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assess vocational interests, skills, and barriers to employment for clients.
  • Develop tailored employment plans aligned with clients’ career goals and needs.
  • Conduct workshops on workplace expectations, communication, and professional behavior.
  • Establish relationships with employers to create job opportunities for clients.
  • Coordinate job placement efforts with external agencies and training programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and employment outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to integrate vocational services.
  • Advocate for workplace accommodations to support client success.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in vocational counseling or workforce development.
  • Preferred certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC).
  • Proficiency in career assessment tools and job coaching strategies.
  • Ability to develop individualized employment plans and navigate employment barriers.
  • Strong communication and case management skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Experience working with individuals with behavioral health challenges preferred.
  • Multilingual proficiency in Spanish, Bengali, Mandarin, or Cantonese is advantageous.
