Overview
- Support clients in achieving employment goals as part of behavioral health recovery.
- Provide career counseling, job readiness training, and placement support.
- Collaborate with treatment teams and external resources for successful job placement.
- Work in a hybrid environment with flexible scheduling options.
- Engage in community outreach to promote vocational services and partnerships.
- Maintain compliance with regulations and document client progress accurately.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings for integrated care planning.
- Provide education to employers on workplace inclusion practices.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assess clients’ vocational interests, skills, and barriers to employment.
- Develop individualized employment plans tailored to client needs.
- Conduct job readiness workshops focusing on workplace expectations and communication skills.
- Establish relationships with employers to create job opportunities.
- Coordinate job placement efforts with external agencies and training programs.
- Advocate for workplace accommodations to support client success.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and employment outcomes.
- Represent the organization at community events and workforce initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in vocational counseling or workforce development.
- Proficiency in career assessment tools and job coaching strategies.
- Understanding of vocational rehabilitation and employment challenges for individuals with behavioral health needs.
- Preferred certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP).
- Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization is advantageous.
- Empathy, patience, and a strengths-based approach to client interactions.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, Bengali, Mandarin, or Cantonese preferred.
